Here are some frequently asked questions and answers about Heartbeat Opera’s drag Opera Extravaganza to help you prepare and make the most of your time at the show:

  • After four fabulous shows at Roulette, our Drag Opera Extravaganza is growing! Judson Memorial Church, an iconic landmark and legendary performance space on Washington Square Park, is just as bold and vibrant as Heartbeat Opera. Steeped in queer history and community, Judson was our dream setting for SLAYLEM, our newest show. We can't wait to see you there!

  • You are invited to join us in your most spellbinding attire. Whether you conjure a fierce drag look or a Puritan-inspired ensemble worthy of haunting the darkest corners of SLAYLEM, we eagerly await your presence. Comfort is also welcome, but expect an evening of enchantment and allure.

  • Yup! And you can always come and go from the bar during the show.

  • It's 80 mins long—long enough to send chills down your spine and, hopefully, give you a wickedly good time.

  • Yup! The restrooms are the ones with the sign, "This restroom has been liberated from the gender binary."

  • Yup! You can grab your ticket at the door, but... getting your ticket in advance is the best way to show us your love.

  • Easily! Judson Memorial Church is on Washington Square Park (55 Washington Square S, New York, NY 10012).

    Car: Parking garages can be found on:

    • West 3rd St. between 6th Ave. and MacDougal St.

    • Thompson St. between West 3rd St. and Bleecker St.

    Metered parking is most available on:

    • West 4th St. between 6th Ave. and MacDougal St.

    • LaGuardia Plc. between West Fourth and Bleecker St.

  • Each show features the same incredible performers and songs, with occasional surprise special guest appearances:

    • Thursday at 7:30 pm: Our Gala Performance, benefiting the entire Heartbeat Opera season.

    • Friday at 7:30 pm: Show No. 2, where you can prepare for an evening of wicked thrills and pure fun.

    • Saturday at 6 pm: Show No. 3, where you’ll be enchanted by a performance that immerses you in every dark, delicious moment of witchy mischief!

    • Saturday at 9 pm: The Last Show—your final chance to get witchfully wild and devilishly lit, with ALL tickets just $50, including a free drink!

  • Yup! Judson is wheelchair accessible at their 243 Thompson Street entrance, which is ground level with an elevator that can bring individuals with accessibility needs up.

  • We’ll ask folks to silence their cell phones… but to keep them out and take pictures!

  • You can buy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the bar (which accepts cash and credit). There is no drink minimum, and there is no food.

  • It’s not that kind of drag show, so you can keep your dollar bills. All our performers are paid.

  • Refunds can be accommodated up to 24 hours before your scheduled performance. Exchanges are on an as-available basis. If you need a refund or exchange, please contact us at info@heartbeatopera.org.

  • Masks are optional.
